Ignite a passion for Physics at The Ecclesbourne School.
Are you a passionate physicist with the ability to inspire the next generation of engineers, astronomers, and innovators? We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-qualified Teacher of Science to join our successful and collaborative science faculty.
This is an exciting opportunity for a specialist physicist – or a talented non-specialist with a strong physics background – to share their passion for the subject. You will be joining a supportive team committed to delivering a stimulating curriculum that fosters curiosity and a deep understanding of the physical world.
The Role:
-
Teach science across Key Stage 3, and physics at Key Stage 4, with the opportunity to teach to A-level physics for the right candidate.
- Plan and deliver engaging, practical-based lessons that challenge and inspire all learners.
- Work collaboratively within a strong science team to share resources and best practices.
- Contribute to the faculty’s extra-curricular programme, including clubs, trips, and STEM events.
We are looking for someone who:
-
Holds QTS and has a genuine specialism in physics (PGCE in Physics or a related degree).
- Can inspire students with the “wow factor” of physics, from forces to fission.
- Is committed to inclusive, high quality teaching that leads to strong student outcomes.
- Is a team player, keen to contribute to the wider life of the school.
In return, we can offer you:
-
Eager and motivated students who are ready to learn.
- Supportive and collaborative colleagues with a shared vision for success.
- Excellent facilities and resources to support outstanding teaching and learning.
- A positive and forward-thinking school community with a strong reputation.
- Professional Development opportunities for training and career development.
- Teachers’ Pension Scheme with immediate membership.
- Wellbeing. We value our staff and recognise the on-going contributions they make to the continued success of the whole school.
- School admissions. Children of members of staff, with a minimum of two years’ service at the school at the time of application, are including in our admissions criteria.
