In May two enthusiastic teams from Ecclesbourne participated in the East Midlands heat of the NRCQ. The students selected to represent the school are avid readers with an encyclopaedic knowledge of books.
The NRCQ, hosted by quizmaster Mr Dilly, provides a fantastic opportunity for students to enjoy an online quiz with their peers and compete with other schools in their region. The winning teams from 18 regions go forward to a star-studded, national final in June with one team being crowned National Reading Champions 2021.
The students completed 10 rounds each with 10 questions. The questions varied from Opening and Closing Lines to Blast from the Past!
Great fun was had by all and after a tightly fought competition our teams were placed 9th and 26th. Congratulations to the winning team, Kesteven and Sleaford High School Selective Academy.
There was also the opportunity to hear from award winning author Berlie Doherty.
