Do you have a wide interest in sport? By undertaking this vocational course you will become increasingly physically competent by developing the skills and techniques required to perform effectively in physical activity.
The qualification is equivalent in size to one A Level. Learners will study three mandatory units: 'Anatomy and Physiology', 'Fitness Training', 'Programming for Health, Sport and Well-being' and 'Professional Development in the Sports Industry'. Learners will also study Unit 7 'Practical Sports Performance'. In this practical module, learners study the skills, techniques, tactics and rules of selected sports through active participation in individual/team sports.
This BTEC qualification is designed in consultation with professional bodies, businesses and universities. If you have a passionate interest in sport, this qualification is for you!

Where can PE take me?
Many of the HE courses which require PE are highly competitive. These may range from Sports Science, Coach Education or Sports Nutrition. Job prospects are good. Many students go on to a career in the sports and leisure industry, in teaching or even in the fire and police services.
