In Music A Level we aim to extend your knowledge, skills and understanding needed to communicate through music and take part in music making. We want you to extend your music, develop strengths and interests for life-long learning and, should you wish, provide you access to music related careers.
What you will be doing:
- You will learn how to successfully perform an 8-12 minute recital
- You will compose one big composition project, as well as work on Electronic Dance Remixing
- You will study 3 interesting and inspiring pieces in each of the Areas of Study: Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, Film Music, Pop Music, Jazz, Fusion and New Directions
5 GCSES 4-9 or A*-C to include Maths and English Lang or Lit Grade 5 + Grade 5 standard
Where can Music take me?
An A Level in Music can lead to courses in Performance, Composition, general Music, Music Therapy or Music Technology. You may also combine Music with any number of courses for a Joint Honours degree. Careers are equally wide and varied. You may work as a performer, a technical, sound recordist or music therapist!
