Reading Passports for Year 7 and Year 8

Over the course of the academic year 2019-20 regular Library lessons are timetabled for all Year 7 and Year 8 students. Students will complete a record of their lessons and books read in a Reading Passport written by the School Librarian. The Reading Passports have been written to complement, enhance and assist with the delivery of the English Curriculum. Reading passports will provide English staff with a tool to monitor reading progress and facilitate structured discussions at Parent’s evenings.

Students will have the opportunity to choose books and read independently. Additional activities to aid literacy will include, Scrabble, Room 101, Poetry, news of the week, famous birthdays and short stories.
